It feels like a golden age. Forgive the endless, eternal and shameless optimism here, but the mass availability and affordability of chic, boutique, and sleek fills me with tears. Everyone and their pet can now expect affordable exquisiteness, discounted high end, and the WalMartization of every quality brand. Hipsters and shop owners may lament this development in the same way selfish guild members rued the spread of knowledge and mass production throughout the renaissance and industrial age, but they certainly have no monopoly on what is cool, fun, and fashionable, and thus do not warrant or deserve consideration. Enjoy!
Though a strict vegan and rarely a patron of McDonalds, for all that is exuberant and thrilling about the near future, I still hope McDonalds offers all its splendid reimaged products at McDonalds prices. This way, the golden age will continue and the golden arches can, in some small part, lead the way.
