The Drive for Immortality in the National Post
The eremite lolls in a stupefied torpor, heavy-lidded eyes ready to droop, ready to pass out, ready for slumber on the grass, the moon overhead lovingly, adoringly, beaming an eerie glow over him, over the heath, over the grotto, into the grotto.
Cockaygne 2008 may be the surest way to longevity and eternal youthfulness, but to ensure others that this is the case will surely be a challenge, and, thus, the wild recluse shall become less hermetic to this end. *impulse cockayge, as we also call it, is the certain way to the unassailed life, the translucent gems peppered throughout the inner chambers, soft, gentle existence, compression, hovering planetoids, shimmering voids, dangling stars, and immortality.
This Cockayne 2008 is not the paradise of old. It is a glossy dome-covered realm. It is both austere and indulgent, studiously idle, sunless, moonfull, guided, calculated and impulsive, oil-rich and muffiney, clad with chick peas and almonds. It is sleep-limited but loll-unlimited.
By its nature, and incidentally, it adorns itself with Calorie Restriction and Volumetric sapphires, but is not shaped by them in any way. They are merely analytical cubist facets that sparkle and twirl as a result of deeper, more primordial, inner shapings and workings.
It is a fascinating comparison:
Cockaygne 2008, as described by *impulse, or Calorie Restriction with Optimum Nutrition?
Both Michael Rae and Paul are similarly aged and are riding in a luminous carriage pointed toward eternity.
